While double terminated quartz crystals can be found in other parts of the world, only those from this area can authentically be called Herkimer Diamonds. There are imitations out there, so it pays to be aware of what to look for.
Inclusions such as solids, liquids (salt water or petroleum) or gases, can help to point to the authenticity of a Herkimer diamond.
